This resource documents the work for the Museum Archives Section Standards and Best Practices Working group did in gathering examples of policies, procedures, and sample forms related to the activities of a museum archivist. Topics covered include: Definition and Scope, Mission Statement, Professional Archivist (roles and job descriptions), Collection development policies, Acquisition policies, deeds of gifts, criteria for retention of museum records, conservation, emergency preparedness, arrangement and description of records, access policies, outreach documents, duplication and photo request forms, and social media policy.
