Optical Disk Guidelines (CO)

This policy clarifies the position of the Colorado State Archives regarding the use of optical disk technology for the maintenance of public records. Defines what to do for records with retention of 10 years or less, non-permanent records with a more than 10 year retention, and records with permanent value. Legal considerations are discussed as well as the selection and use of optical storage systems and hardware and software.
