In 2020, the Council of State Archivists, with support from Preservica and AVP Inc, developed the MoVE-IT project to survey best practices among state and territorial governments concerning the transfer of permanent electronic records from the producer agencies to the archives. The project profiled seven model projects and, with generous assistance from a focus group of expert digital archivists, analyzed the transfers and produced a list of broad best practices and some tools for government agencies to use to better facilitate transfers in the future. This presentation will outline the findings from the report, as well as present and walk through the tools created for the community.
