DSpace

05-28-2021 10:19 AM

DSpace is an open source digital asset management system, institutional repository. It provides a fixity checking through unique ID's, persistent identifiers (available as a separate subscription service), and checksums. Format validation is accomplished on a limited level, although more robust tools can be added. Recent releases (starting with version 1.6) have been adding more preservation tools. Even though open source, DSpace is a more "out of the box" product than something like Fedora, although the development communities have come together in the formation of Duraspace.
