Dr. Patricia C. Franks, Associate Professor in the School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) at San Jose State University in California and Program Coordinator for the Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA), discusses some of the trends in archival education as students and emerging professionals face the challenges of today's archives.

This series of conversations is presented by the Council of State Archivists, focusing on contemporary issues shaping the work of state archives. The series is made possible by a National Endowment for the Humanities CARES grant. In recognition of this crucible moment in which humanities institutions and records repositories find themselves, the conversations in this series will span three broad topic areas: Diversity and Inclusion, The Workplace Here and Now, and The Future of Work and the Workplace.
