Archivematica is a system that automates the process of preparing digital objects for ingest into a repository and an access system. Materials are ingested into archival storage and access is provided to the archived material; access copies are also uploaded to an access system. The process is monitored and controlled through a Web-based dashboard that coordinates a suite of micro-services. It relies on normalization with preservation of the original object. In other words, it normalizes the files but retains the original transfer file and tracks this information using PREMIS activities in XML.
